Everyone had a good nights sleep and we were up at 7 and on our way by 8:10. We stopped at MacDonalds for breakfast where a young man spoke to us and after learning of our destination told us about a boat trip on a fresh water fjord. It was a cool morning and we rode on the TCH for over two hours through a variety of woods with small “ponds” and babbling brooks. The sun came out and it was a lovely day but we stayed in our lined jackets etc. We proceeded into Gros Morne National Park. We saw a cloud coming in over East Arm and the Tickle, then rode around until we were looking across the arm at Norris Point. Once again we had a quick viewing of a whale. We continued on to Rocky Harbour then rode to Berry Hill where Alan was thrilled to see Pink Lady slippers in the “bog” as well as Nfld.’s pitcher flower. After we continued north and stopped at the Western Brook Pond which is actually a fresh water fjord. Unfortunately we didn’t have time for the boat ride but we were amazed by the escarpment that had been made 1 250 million years ago. From there it was a short drive to Cow Head where we landed in our beautiful B&B which looks out over the Gulf of St.Lawrence. It was lobster for Alan and I and scallops for Tara for dinner. Afterwards we sat out on our deck drinking wine and watching the sunset and fog mix together In the distance. It was a long but very exciting and satisfying day.

Glad to read you are enjoying your trip, despite the fall. I watch Canada AM every morning and look for your weather. You probably know about the mess in Toronto yesterday. Ed’s drivers were stranded in Mississauga on the highway for over 4 hours. Looking forward to your pics when you get home. Hi to your fellow travellers.
Sounds idyllic. The pics are great.
